It's crazy what can happen when you don't know your rights.
Too many people lose their jobs but never think to ask for legal advice.
One of our members delivered milk to grocery stores for quite a few years.
One day, he arrived at work and his boss told him to go home, he wasn't needed anymore.
Fired. Released. Let go, call it what you want, with no explanation whatsoever.
The devastated man was completely at a loss, but he was a 1099 employee so he didn't think he had much recourse.
It was a good thing he decided to call his law firm for advice.
The attorney did some research and found that the member had been treated like a W-2 employee the whole time.
Long story short, the member ended up receiving $16,000 in compensation.
