I got a desperate call from a woman who needed help.
She is a new client and wasn't sure what to do.
She has been renting a home for the past 2 years, has never been late on her rent or had any issues.
A man showed up at her home one evening claiming to be the landlord and demanded that she open the door.
He even put a For Rent sign in the front yard and told her she must get out within 3 days.
She was sure he is the landlord, so she didn't want to call the police, but he would not identify himself.
He simply stated that it's his property and he can enter if he wants to, but she didn't open the door.
Instead, my client used the 24/7 emergency number on her phone and got an attorney on the line immediately.
The attorney advised her of her rights, which she communicated to the landlord through the door.
The man left and he hasn't bothered her since.
My client now knows her rights and has the peace of mind that she can not be evicted for no reason with only 3 days' notice.
She is now looking for a new place to live and she will definitely use the free contract review through LegalShield before she signs anything.
With LegalShield, you can Worry Less, and Live More.
