Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of the darkest days in American history.

Everyone felt it.

Everyone knows where they were on that day.

We were unified.

Do you remember how you felt?

I was living in Europe at the time and, at first, I thought German news couldn't get their news stories straight.

First, they mentioned NYC, then Washington. Did they mean the World Trade Center or the Pentagon?

My mind was rationalizing instead of hearing what they were saying.

Then the whole picture came together.

What remains etched in my mind were the people in the middle east who were cheering and celebrating the event.

I will never understand such a hateful mentality and joy over people dying anywhere, nor will I conform to it.

While we will never forget, I wonder how far along most people are at forgiving.

Our media sources will not allow us to forget nor forgive.

Tragedy sells.

Murder Sells.

Death sells.

It's what the masses demand.

Almost 3000 people died on 9/11 and over 25,000 were injured.

America's response to the terrorist attacks, which lasted over the past 20 years, caused over 174,000 people, and possibly as many as 300,000.

Most of the people killed were innocent civilians, men, women, and children who had nothing to do with any of it.

What have we learned from it?

Will it ever end?

We do not need to forget, but maybe it's time to forgive.

Are you ready and able to forgive and move forward?
