231 - Why do you connect on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is a business networking platform.
People do business with people they know, like, and trust, right?
We connect here with others to form a business network so we can refer and receive referrals, share ideas, and do business.
Most people have never experienced a business networking event, much less been involved in a networking group.
Masses of people come on to LinkedIn with no clue of what their purpose is.
Others connect to build a large network with no clear plan other than to have 500+ connections.
What they end up with is a large group of people they don't know or how to do business with them.
I find it best to come on LinkedIn with the intention of connecting others.
Help others and they will help you.
There is nothing more powerful than a 3rd party recommendation.
Meet people, refer them or connect them with someone else and watch your network grow.
Do not begin by sending your new connections a link to your website, or your latest offer. Your new connection doesn't even know you.
