I read an interesting post yesterday from Tracy Kelly 🎣 on Sales and Marketing.

He posed the question, "Which came first, sales or marketing?"

It seemed like a simple question but people were having trouble answering.

I took a stab at it. I gave an analogy of someone who had chickens that laid eggs.

It made me think of "the oldest profession known to man". 😉😉

Here we are in 2021 and I find myself wondering how we have evolved.

Women have gone from being auctioned as slaves, to women taking control and selling their own bodies.

Tell me if I'm wrong and forgive me if I'm too blunt.

I realize I'm treading on thin ice here.

In this new world of virtual sales and entertainment, I often see women on LinkedIn using their bodies to market themselves.

They are not selling anything indecent, far from it.

These are serious business professionals in all areas of business. I question if they are aware of what they are doing.

Their cameras angled just right to show that tight sweater or yoga pants.

Why do they feel the need to post videos of themselves dancing, wear tight or revealing clothing, and even flirt with the camera?

Do professional women think it's necessary to dance to attract clients?

Do they even care how they are perceived, because they should?

How is it affecting their business?

Are they attracting the right type of clients or do they find themselves warding off the drooling baboons of the internet?

I ask all these questions for a reason.

I don't see men flaunting their bodies to attract clients.

These are men, in the same professions, such as financial planning, coaching, sales, and more.

I may be opening Pandora's box here or I'm just out of touch.

It made me question how other business people regard these types of posts from professional women.

Are you compelled to connect for business with women who use their bodies as marketing tools?
