CyberSecurity Awareness Month is coming to an end.

You may be tired of hearing about it, unfortunately.

I realize that cybersecurity is one of the last things you want to read about.

If you are a small business owner, you should be thinking about it.

You don't have to be the Colonial Pipeline to be breached.

I know a small business here in my area whose computer was locked in a cyberattack. The ransom demand to unlock her computer was $10,000.

$10,000 to a small business owner is equivalent to $1 million for a large corporation. It could cause a business to close its doors.

Insurance alone will not protect a company and it takes time to collect.

No one understood fire insurance until they saw a burning building. No one wants to use life insurance but they have it, just in case. Insurance is necessary.

Cyber protection may seem like an unnecessary expense but that's only because business owners don't understand it.

Cyber protection can help detect possible weak points. Think of it as a smoke alarm (to stay with the fire analogy).

Do not ignore the possibility that your business could suffer a breach even if you work from home.

If you have client files on your computer, do you really want an unknown source accessing your data or closing it down?
