The old saying about recognition is that "babies cry for it, men died for it".


Everyone loves being appreciated and recognized.


Many companies have strategies for receiving bonuses and awards.


Incentives like Employee of the Month come to mind.


This post is about the ways you can show appreciation every day and to everyone.


As Maya Angelou said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”


I have one client who owns an RV repair shop. She has 12 employees.


I love servicing this company on a Wednesday. That's the day she cooks a homemade lunch for the entire staff. When I'm there to "service" the group, I bring dessert.


She has a full schedule as a business owner, ambassador for the chamber of commerce, active in her local service club, and more. How does she do it?


She schedules the time to serve her employees.


As a result, she has high employee retention rates. Some have been with her for over 18 years.


Some upper-level executives believe that it's enough to pay a decent salary to their employees.


They are missing the point and the possibility of having a great team over a good one. Their retention may show it.


Taking notice of your employees is not only important, it's VITAL.


Personalized notes, homemade cookies, a gift card, and other things are great ways to show you care.


It's not about the "thing" you do, it's about the fact that you thought of them. You showed your appreciation.
