In my case, the question was asked, sarcastically, by my son, Philip, "Mom, are you doing enough?"

Philip had walked me through a simple exercise of writing everything I do on individual sticky notes.

Each sticky note was then stuck on the wall.

As I looked at the wall, he had me arrange the notes in order of importance.

My business, with LegalShield, came first.

My commitment to my "little" sister with Big Brother Big Sister came second, then Stephen MInistry.

There were 9 notes total and each one signified a time commitment.

That's when Philip asked me the question, "Mom, Are you doing enough?"

I got the message. I could not sustain my current schedule.

It was time to scale back.

There was Rotary, Toastmasters, Chamber of Commerce, Orchestra, and a few other organizations I belonged to.

I held positions in all of them. I was committed to all of them.

Together we mapped out a plan to step back from most of them when my terms were up.

It wasn't easy and it wasn't something I wanted to do, but I knew I had to in order to grow my business.

Are you doing enough?

Do you need to scale back to move forward?
