People are all over the map on LinkedIn when it comes to the reason they are there.
Some people are looking for jobs, helping people land jobs, looking for business advice, giving business advice and the list goes on.
There are those who market themselves multiple times per day.
Others criticize everything they read but never post their own content.
Unfortunately, there are also too many scammers and people here for the wrong reasons.
This is not a social media site like Facebook or Instagram.
LinkedIn is meant for business.
There are influencers and content writers who bring value to people on the platform.
What I don't see enough of is relationship building.
You don't build a networking relationship by only posting or commenting on content.
You build relationships by engaging with people.
You network by introducing people you know to each other.
This is about giving as well as receiving.
Not everyone you meet on LinkedIn will want to do business with you, and that's ok.
They can still refer you if you have built the right kind of relationship.
Have you thought about the real reason you are on LinkedIn and what you intend to give to the community?
How do you contribute on LinkedIn?
