About 12 years ago, I thought I was forgetful because I was getting old.

My kids were constantly reminding me of things I had forgotten.

Then something happened that woke me up to reality.

My 16 yr old daughter was storming around the house, grasping her cell phone, with a concerned look on her face.

She was looking intently everywhere she went.

I asked what she was doing and she said, "I CAN'T FIND MY PHONE"

I asked her, "What's that in your right hand?"

She looked down, rolled her eyes, and walked away.

As she left I playfully called out to her to keep that in mind the next time she thinks I'm forgetful.

I could hear her muttering...W H A T E V E R...🤣

I felt like I had won one round. 💪

It was then that I understood that everything is coming at us all so fast, we can't keep up, regardless of age.

We can't process the amount of information that comes at us every day through our digital devices.

Now, I either write things down, set an alarm, or put it on my calendar immediately.

I don't forget things like I used to.

I stopped talking about how forgetful I was.

As the saying goes, what you think about, you bring about.

✍️ Start taking notes instead of storing them mentally. ✍️

Mental notes are not reliable in a world where information comes at us faster than we can process it.

WRITE IT DOWN!

Take some time each day away from all digital devices. It makes a difference.

Are you forgetful?
