Linkedin has an audience of over 700 million people from all over the world.

For that reason alone, it makes sense to approach the network with intention.

We are all on here to build business relationships and find our "ideal" clients.

The question is, what kind of people are you connecting with?

Are you impressed by someone who has hundreds of thousands or even millions of views?

Stop and think first.

How did those people get so many views and why are there so many comments on their posts?

Is it really because their content is so valuable?

I was impressed and inspired by these people. I wondered how much time must it have taken for them to get such a large reach.

Then a more seasoned LinkedIn user told me about paid share groups where people pay to have others comment on their posts.

The comments often come from automated bots and are usually only 2 or 3 words in length.

They aren't even real people!?!

I was confused why anyone would do this.

It's one thing to create a share group with a network of people who communicate and engage with each other and pass referrals. It's an entirely different thing to pay for fake responses so you don't have to read the post.

LinkedIn is a cyber world and there are many fakes on here, consisting of more than scammers and desperate people seeking love.

Before connecting with someone who has 100,000 or more Followers, check their posts carefully.

Some people you think would be good connections could be using auto-responders to comment on your post.

Meanwhile, you're putting in the time and effort to communicate with them.

They don't care about you, your content, or doing business with you, much less sending you referrals.

How could they? They've never even read your content!!

Here is a shortlist of comments you might see:
