90 Day Runs are easy to do and easy not to do.
If you've read Jeff Olsons, The Slight Edge, you understand the concept.
For 90 Days you focus on specific goals that you want to achieve and track your activity towards those goals every day.
Decide on a time for an accountability meeting.
A 90 Day Run without any accountability is just 90 days.
Being held accountable for doing what you said you would do is a powerful motivator to get the work done.
There are 2 main rules to accountability.
First, you can not make excuses. This is hard to do when the going gets tough and life gets in the way.
We are all programmed to make excuses when we don't do the things we said we would do.
Second, there is no judgment.
When someone reports that they have not accomplished the goals they set for the week, there is no judgment against them.
No excuses, no judgment. It's an enlightening exercise to see how we are programmed for both of these actions.
It is enough for each person to sit with their knowledge of what they said they would do and what they actually did. No one has to add anything.
The questions we ask in an accountability session are:
1) What did you say you would do?
2) Did you do what you said you would do?
3) If NO, when will you get it done?
3) if YES, what is your next goal?
4) How can we help you?
I am so fortunate to have 7 amazing people I met here on LinkedIn who are currently working together for 90 days.
Each of us has our own goals set for the 90 days.
We are all from different industries and backgrounds. Each of us brings our own perspectives and experience.
The beauty of coming together as a team is to encourage and help each other no matter what the goal is. I don't have to understand another person's work to motivate them.
It's important during these 90 days to encourage and empower each other to keep moving forward.
