I heard a report on the radio yesterday and, although it wasn't good news, it made me chuckle.

You've got to hand it to them, identity thieves pick up fast on opportunities.

Identity thieves prey on those who are anxious, and we know the masses are anxious.

According to the report, fake Covid testing sites are popping up all over the city.

In this case, it's San Antonio, Texas.

But, don't be fooled, this is happening in every city.

These fake sites consist of pop-up tents in the middle of a sidewalk, parking lot, or other unusual location.

Notice that there will be no logos on the materials that show they are affiliated with any health care organization.

These scammers are requiring full social security numbers and other personal information from people.

If you know someone who is looking to get tested, please share this information with them.

If you, or they, visit such a site, ask what medical group they are affiliated with and call that organization to verify.

You can also call the number 311 to verify if a site is fraudulent.

We can't ignore sites like this. We must be proactive in helping to fight them.
