What is the power of a challenge?

Challenges change you; they help you grow.

Today marks the 365th day in a row that I have posted daily on LinkedIn.

I want to thank John Knotts for giving me the challenge, one year ago, to write original content daily for 60 days.

I am not the same person I was because I became more intentional and deliberate.

I stopped wondering or worrying about what people might say about my posts.

I had never written my own content prior to that.

Don't get me wrong, I was active on LinkedIn, liking, commenting, and sharing people's posts.

None of that matters as much as actually sharing your own thoughts and ideas.

ACCEPT A WORTHY CHALLENGE!

When I began the challenge I had about 1900 Followers and got on average, 60-80 views on my posts.

John Knotts didn't just give me the challenge, he actually monitored my activity and gave me excellent advice on how to improve.

HAVE SOMEONE WHO WILL HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE!

One of the first changes he told me to make was to leave off pictures, they weaken engagement.

I loved the pictures I chose to go with my posts and I thought they helped boost engagement.

Nothing is further from the truth.

When I stopped including a picture my posts jumped from 80 -100 views to several thousand.

After a while, I was encouraged to do a slide share, then post a video and a poll.

BE COACHABLE!

60 days came and went, and I continued posting.

I write daily. That's not mandatory for success on LinkedIn but it sure gave me a boost.

One day I was so busy, I didn't post until 11:58 pm, but I did it!

Even when I was sick for 5 days, I made sure to use my own content to repost it because it's difficult to concentrate with a 102° (38.8°C) temperature.

BE CONSISTENT!

On December 21, 2021, I hit a new milestone of 105,000 Views and over 2400 votes on a poll I had posted.

My following went from 1900 to over 8200, growing organically, not through automation.

My goal is to have at least 20,000 Followers by the end of 2022.

SET YOUR GOALS HIGH!

This has been an incredible journey, and while I don't know how long I will continue, I currently have no plan to stop.

I now schedule my writing, how I will engage, and with whom I connect.

LinkedIn is a powerful tool for anyone in business who is willing to engage, share and network daily.

NETWORK EVERY DAY WITH INTENTION!

The Intention is to give before you get, to refer before you are referred, and help those who ask.

Do you need help getting started?
