Business networking has always been a valuable way to exchange ideas, meet new referral partners, and prospective clients.
There are all kinds of networking groups through Chambers of Commerce, Organizations like BNI and MeetUp groups.
Live speed networking events have been an exciting way to meet new business owners that we haven't had the time or opportunity to meet before.
Some people envision speed dating when they hear about speed networking.
The concept isn't completely different, except this is exclusively for business.
Then came the pandemic and live meetings came to a halt, at least for a short time.
Enter Zoom!
Zoom has also made it easier than ever to meet people from all over the world, for those who do business globally.
But, you can also set up an event to strengthen the relationships in your own network.
Networking events are a valuable way to get to know a lot of people in a short amount of time.
In zoom speed networking, participants pair off into breakout rooms, rather than listening to the entire group.
Most people are concerned about the time. There is no travel time involved.
A speed networking event doesn't have to last more than 1 hour.
During that hour, each participant will have the ability to connect with 6-8 new people, or more.
Each person shares equally about themselves and their business.
You have the opportunity to listen to the other person with the intention of giving them a referral.
Online networking events give you the opportunity to build relationships. They help you hone your speaking, listening and interviewing skills as well.
