It's time to stop kidding ourselves.
If governments can be hacked, anyone can be hacked.
I speak to people daily who think they have no need for identity theft or cyber protection.
They have their heads in the sand.
Too many Americans believe identity theft is preventable.
This is the reason LifeLock was fined $100 Million in 2015. https://bit.ly/3IGZ8u8
The FTC finally put their foot down to deceptive advertising, but the damage was done!
Experian then offered their customers free monitoring services for a year.
People thought that was great. They felt safe again. But they aren't.
It was a brilliant move on Experian's part to keep people blissfully ignorant.
Would you want a doctor who botched many surgeries to perform a surgery on you?
Would you go to a lawyer who used unethical practices to work on your behalf?
Yet, when it comes to protecting ourselves, our family and our business we are complacent.
We accept free monitoring as if it is the answer to our problems. IT'S NOT.
Monitoring services watch what is going on. They do little to resolve the issues.
What happens when a real identity theft situation arises?
First, more than likely, your monitoring services won't even catch it.
Consider that only about 18% of identity theft can be monitored.
Change your mindset about identity theft and cyber security.
Cyber crime is just getting started.
Open your mind to learning about these insidious crimes. They are not going away.
