4 of 10 What brings you joy? Do you love to travel?

❤️ One of my greatest joys is traveling with my kids.

This is the 4th post of 10 on what brings me joy.

We have been to many places together, all over the world.

Now that my children are grown, I know they will soon go their own ways and have their own families.

But I am happy they still call me to see where I want to go. I struggled with it the first time they said they wanted to take me on #vacation.

The mother in me wanted to pay their way but I recognized the need to receive their generosity. After all, I taught them the importance of #giving and #receiving graciously.

In 2018, my kids called me to ask where I wanted to go for our vacation in August.

😕 I confused them when I said I didn't want to go anywhere in August.

😃 Then I asked them, wouldn't you rather go to Australia in November?

We had been invited to their nanny's wedding in Australia. We hadn't seen her in 24 years!

That was a great reason to go to Brisbane for her wedding.

Although the wedding was canceled because of medical issues in her family, our flights were non-refundable so we went just to see her. We never told her that.

We went anyway and were able to spend more quality time with our friends.

We all took different flights because we live in different parts of the country. It was quite an #adventure.

We had the most amazing time together, scootering around Brisbane, visiting the Steve Irwin Zoo, cooking together, and exploring the Gold Coast of Australia.

I love everything about traveling. I love the #planning, the airports, and even airline food because it's part of the journey.

I embrace it all.
