Dear World,

Just because I work from home does not mean that I am available at all times.

(Cat, that goes for you too)

Don't take it personally that I didn't immediately answer my phone or respond to your emoji filled text.

I'M WORKING! I'M FOCUSED! I'M IN THE ZONE!!!

Sincerely,

Your SOLOPRENEUR

It's a blissful situation to be in, being my own boss, and working when I decide to.

However, there is a learning process for everyone involved.

I had to learn to set boundaries.

I had to discipline myself not to answer every distraction that arises.

As more and more people are working from home, the problem will get more complicated, until everyone learns that they must set boundaries.

NO, dear spouse and children, that doesn't mean you are being ignored.

It means your significant other is focused on work, just like they would be if they were in the office.

It is going to take time to adjust to these new hybrid ways of working.

The most important thing is to have patience.

We will find our way to a new, practical way of working within our living spaces.

There is no need to fight about it or take it personally.

Everyone should communicate their expectations and discuss best practices for working from home.

My answer to almost everything these days is, TIME WILL TELL.

Time will tell who has succeeded in adapting to these new ways of doing business and working from home.

Time will tell what works best.

If you are new at working from home, how are you and your family adjusting to it?

Do you work from home?
