“Commitment is doing what you said you would, long after the mood you said it in has left.”

~ Darren Hardy

How committed are you in business and in life?

As an example, Have you ever committed to a 90 Day Run in your business?

When you first commit to a 90 Day Run it seems so easy.

You set goals and you commit to getting them done over a 90 day period.

It doesn't take long to realize that there is nothing easy about it.

Most people drop out after the first few weeks because life, or business, gets in the way.

Commitments are difficult to keep.

One major factor in not sticking to commitments is forgetting to plan unforeseen events into them.

When we set a goal, we do so with a clear vision, either mental or on paper, of what reaching that goal will look like.

What we don't do is plan for hurdles along the way.

I'm talking about visual hurdles here. I don't want anyone tripping and breaking a leg, although that would be a good example of a hurdle.

When I committed to posting everyday for 60 days, I didn't plan on being flat on my. back with a nasty sinus infection and high fever for 5 days.

However, I was so committed to reaching my goal that in the few moments each day when my fever was down, I got up, reworked and posted my own content, which only took about 10-15 minutes.

I made it work.

This is where commitment and resilience meet on the path to reaching goals...but that's a subject for another post.

Commit, plan, let nothing get in your way. It's never easy but it's worth it.

Do you find it difficult to commit?
