I used to chuckle when my kids would say, "Back in the day..." meaning the 90's.
When I say "back in the day", I'm referring to the 60's.
I came across this embarrassing and less than perfect video that I made 2 years ago on the spur of the moment.
Covid lockdowns had begun about a week earlier.
Zoom? What was that?
I had never heard of zoom.
I received this video from my ex-husband, who lives in Germany.
It had been 15 years since we last played together in an orchestra.
When I saw him playing Beethoven, my first thought was that the harmony was missing.
There was no preparation, no special equipment.
I seized the moment, grabbed a stack of books, set up my computer and pulled out my horn.
Looking back, I'm pleased that after so many years, I was still able to remember the harmony and play along with him, without being able to see him.
It wasn't perfect but it was fun.
I noticed later that, if nothing else, I provided a great list of good books for people to consider reading.
It was a spur of the moment bit of fun that lightened the situation all around us.
This shows how much has changed in the past 2 years.
Perspectives! It's all about perspectives.
When you say, "Back in the day", what time frame are you referring to?
