About a week ago, I met @KevinHopkins on LinkedIn and I wanted to order his book, Revelation: Authentic Power In An Overwhelming World, looked intriguing.
I then noticed that he is from Oklahoma City, so I reached out and asked him if I could get an autographed copy while I'm there.
I'm now in Oklahoma City for my company's 50th Anniversary Convention.
I met with Kevin at a local coffee shop, along with 2 of my colleagues and they also bought his book.
It was such a pleasure to meet yet another LinkedIn connection, who I otherwise never would have met.
There wasn't much time to talk before the coffee shop closed but I am so grateful I had the opportunity to meet Kevin.
This is what LinkedIn is all about, a far as I'm concerned.
Last year I met @Fred Diamond who was traveling around the country meeting LinkedIn connections.
Because of Fred's visit I was also introduced to 2 other connections who are right here in my area, @David Walters and @Daniel Gomez.
There is so much power behind meeting the people we connect with on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is about building relationships.
This deeper journey into LinkedIn began when I met @John Knotts at my local Chamber of Commerce.
It is due to the challenge John gave me that I have grown on LinkedIn in Followers, meaningful Connections and personally.
It's all about the journey and, over time, the right people will come to you who want to do business.
Be bold, be consistent, and be open to meeting new people. You never know who they know that may need your services.
Have you ever met with distant LinkedIn connections?
