There are a lot of salespeople on LinkedIn.
If you are here with the intent of selling directly to the people you meet, you will be disappointed.
Everyone you meet has a large network of potential clients for you, just as you do for them.
If you're here flashing open your trench coat to reveal your goods to everyone you meet, you're going to be met with the harsh reality that most people are not looking to buy.
People are not on LinkedIn to buy, yet all are selling, so how do we rectify the situation to find buyers for each other.
3 Easy Steps:
1) Get to know your network
2) Connect people in your network with possible referral partners.
3) Give Referrals
A referral is someone who needs your services, and has given permission to the referral partner for you to contact them.
GETTING referrals is the goal of every salesperson.
GIVING referrals is the goal of every successful salesperson
First,you must give.
Ask others what their target audience is, and be ready to answer that same question when asked.
Consider who you know that either fits that target or has contact with that type of target.
Many people answer the question "Who is your target audience?" by saying, "Everyone", and they believe that's true.
THEY'RE NOT.
Everyone is NOT your target audience.
We all have varying audiences that we can address but not everyone is an ideal client.
The fastest way for you to get referrals is to start giving referrals.
How many people have you given referrals to?
That question could be an eye opener for you about why you aren't getting referrals.
Stop expecting to get a referral from everyone you give one to.
That's unrealistic.
Begin giving referrals and soon referrals will come from variying sources.
I love connecting people and I do it quite often.
Connecting people is not a referral.
It's an introduction to what could become referral partners.
Connecting others and giving referrals are both a process.
Do you give referrals without expecting anything in return?
