LinkedIn has over 830 million users.
Of those, about 30 million are active daily on LinkedIn.
The most followed person on LinkedIn is Bill Gates with 34 million followers. I found it interesting that he is only followed by about 4% of the total.
So, when you look at the big picture on Linkedin, consider what your goal is for being here?
How many people do you have to reach to be successful?
We don't have to have big numbers, and in reality, it's not going to happen quickly anyway.
Are you impressed with people who have hundreds of thousands of followers? You can pay to have automated systems boost your following.
SO WHAT! What then?
You can pay to have people comment on your posts. They say things like, Good Job, Great post, I like it.
All meaningless chatter...
Stop worrying about the people with more followers than you.
FORGET THE NUMBERS.
JUST BE YOU!
What is the real reason you are on LinkedIn? Find the answer to that question and be genuine about it.
Do you want to look at numbers?
Look at the number of times you have followed up with a new client after they bought from you.
Look at the number of how many times you have followed up with people you have reached out to about your services.
Most importantly, look at the number of people you have helped on LinkedIn without expecting anything in return.
Look at the right numbers and your LinkedIn experience will be more meaningful, for you and those who follow you.
What numbers do you look at?
