This month is Lyme Disease Awareness Month.

I want to celebrate a friend who has never had Lyme disease, yet is so passionate about it he wrote a book about it.

Because of the devastating affects on people close to him, Fred Diamondlearned that most people don't understand enough about Lyme.

Fred has written a book about Lyme disease, that is soon to be released. and has hosted podcasts to bring awareness to it.

I had a mild case of Lyme, if there is such a thing. I found a tick on my side after hiking in the woods.

I removed the tick but there was already the so-called Bull's eye ring forming. I was lucky; my symptoms were noticeable.

After a few days, that red rash was growing so I went to the doctor, had a blood test and learned that I had Lyme disease.

Despite finding it so quickly, I was on penicillin for 40 days.

Between the disease and the heavy medication I was like a zombie much of the time.

It was difficult to concentrate at work.

But, this post is not about the disease itself. Let's be clear, Lyme is deceptive and it is vicious.

I want to celebrate people like Fred Diamond who find a passion in helping and bringing awareness to something that affects many people.

Those people may not be equipped to talk about their experience.

People like Fred, are their sounding board.

If you are passionate about a cause, do what Fred did and bring awareness to it.

Every organization out there needs more people like Fred Diamond.

You don't have to be directly affected by issue.

Just support the organization.

♥️ Do you support a cause that you are passionate about? ♥️
