26 years ago, my children used their hands and feet to create this wonderful Mother's Day picture.
I posted this picture last year as well, and it's still relevant, always will be.
We don't talk a lot about our children here on LinkedIn.
We are here to connect with new and like-minded professionals, build business relationships, promote our products/services, and learn from each other.
But, today is Mother's Day and I am so proud to be the mother of 2 young adults who are now independent and thriving.
When my children were younger, I would joke that I had 2 goals for them.
The goal was that they would both know how to do their own laundry and cook before they left home!
The first goal was accomplished when my son was about 9 years old. His dad accidentally washed a red sock with all the whites.
My son's underwear came out pink and from that day forward he forbade anyone from doing his laundry.
The second goal was easy because we all love to cook together.
Both of my kids are excellent cooks and love to try new foods.
We also love to travel and experience new places.
Recently, my kids came to visit and we spent the day scootering around Austin, Texas.
I'm so grateful that, although they are grown, they still come to visit and travel together.
That will change someday when they have families of their own. It will mean new experiences with new family members.
At the end of the day, it's the simple memories that make Mother's Day such a wonderful day.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to Mothers everywhere!
