Are you part of a rewards program?
You were probably enticed with discounts, free nights and other perks, all for free when you sign up.
You gave them your information and soon receive a welcome email, then another and another.
There may even be an app on your phone, so now you get frequent texts, all of which you can opt out of, of course.
You may have rewards for your favorite hotel. When you call to book a room, are you automatically given a discount, or do you have to ASK FOR IT?
Many hotels, and other businesses offering rewards lure you in, but unless you ASK, you won't receive a discount.
When I learn about this I was shocked. It's a practice that lacks integrity and good ethical standards.
If you entice me to join with the promise of rewards and discounts, I expect to get those discounts without further asking.
WHY? Because, I would do the same for you.
Having ethical standards and integrity in business are crucial to a thriving business.
How many other discounts and offerings are you missing because you didn't know to ASK?
There are many possibilities in front of us everyday, but if we don't ask we won't know. That's what businesses are hoping. They know most people, in general, don't like to ask.
Every now and then, they throw you a tidbit, a free sample, an extra reward. But for the most part, it's up to the member to ASK.
People do not like to ask.
The same is true in our businesses. If you want to get business, you have got to ASK.
The worst thing that can happen is the other party will say no and there is no harm done.
No often means, not yet, or I need more information. You won't bleed. There are no injuries to report.
JUST ASK! You may be amazed at how many doors open to you,
Once you have presented your services/products, and the prospective client has shown interest, what is your next step?
Do you wait for them to say they want to buy? Do you set another appointment?
Do.you ASK if your client is ready to move forward?
