Analogies are a great way to bring perspective and draw a mental picture when you are explaining your business.
An analogy, according to Oxford dictionary, is a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.
I'm inspired to write this post after reading @Amela Titan's post on employee engagement.
It's so important to recognize the whole team and give them recognition for their contribution to the organization.
I provided an analogy for the importance of team work as follows, it doesn't matter what position employees hold, from the lowest paid to the highest, it takes everyone and they all matter.
Can you imagine how a company would run if the C-Suite had to clean floors, wash windows, take out the trash, and make fresh coffee everyone, each morning before work?
Another analogy on how teams matter is that of a restaurant. How good would a restaurant be if the chef had to bus the tables, wash the dishes, and serve everyone all while trying to prepare meals for others?
It wouldn't work.
In my own business, I use an analogy to build a picture for my prospective clients:
LegalShield puts an app on your phone that give you top rated law firms and identity theft experts in the palm of your hand, on speed dial.
Having LegalShield is like having a safety net around your family, your business, and your employees for all life's issues.
What analogy do you use to explain your business?
