Today is day 4 of an unexpected and uninvited sinus infection.
I have no time for this!
This isn't the first sinus infection I've had this year, which is highly unusual for me. I used to get them every few years.
I laid in bed for 2 days, getting up long enough to post, comments on posts and do a bit of business.
While I love that I don't have to call in sick, I would like to have full capacity of my brain to focus on work.
The fact is, whether you are an entrepreneur or an employee, you have responsibilities.
Life happens. The question is, what do you do when the unexpected occurs?
Some say I should let everything go and stay in bed. Other will say, suck it up and get to work.
My head is telling me to pull it together to get some work done but listen to my body and know when to go rest.
I have found that whether I lay in bed and do absolutely nothing or get up and work, despite the discomfort, makes no difference to the time it takes to heal.
Yep, the healing time is the same.
Remember when they used to keep you in the hospital for a week or more after surgery?
Now we are sent home the same day after a major operation.
I am not contagious, and I work alone anyway. So I will pull myself together and do what needs to be done.
Sometimes that's the best path to recovery.
There's a fine balance in knowing how much is enough.
That balance comes in listening to your body, something I should have done in the first place!
Do you listen to your body when it's telling you to slow down?
