Building relationships is as old as humankind.

Remember when we used to meet people face to face?

The telephone and other advancements in technology have changed all of that.

Talking face to face moved to phone calls, then emails and texts and now on social media.

Imagine when the telephone first became popular. There must have been some people thought it was a terrible way to communicate.

The way we build relationships has continued to evolve right along with technology.

What many people don't understood is that it is possible to build business relationships on social media.

It's not only possible, here on LinkedIn, it's vital to build a strong network of people with whom you can engage, pass referrals and most importantly, connect to others.

We are all looking for specific people, our target audience.

Like building face to face relationships, it takes time and effort.

Connecting for the sake of connecting is a waste of time.

Unless you are a spectacular content writer, who draws people with quality content consistently, you will have to take time to get to know people.

That way, you also learn how you can connect them with the right people.

Do you actively get to know people in your network in order to help each other?
