521 - Together we stand

Today is Independence Day in the USA. HAPPY 4th of JULY!

Many people around the world look at the US today with skepticism and disappointment.

I don't blame them. The media doesn't show a well rounded picture of who we really are.

All we hear about is how divided the country is.

But deep down, we are not divided.

There are some who think being free means they can do anything they want, anytime and anywhere they want to.

Visualize that for a minute!

You can see evidence of this mindset as you drive along any road or highway. Some people think we are free to throw trash and cigarette butts out the window.

The ugly American is well known around the world.

What the world and many Americans don't see is the core of this country.

There is a strong, subtle majority that loves and cares deeply for what America stands for.

We don't talk in extremes, make demands of entitlement or the need for diversity.

We live in a way that requires none of that.

We don't boast about being patriotic or proud.

We live it.

We don't question who it is that needs help. We just help.

The world doesn't hear about the great things going on in the US.

That's OK. It's not something we want, need or should boast about.

This country (like most other countries) is and has always been great.

Together we stand, whether the media wants you to know that or not.
