I am seeing more and more Facebook type posts on LinkedIn.
I see personal content with no connection to business.
Look at me. Look at my dog. Look at us eating ice cream.
Lighthearted personal posts are great on occasion. But, I'm seeing more people using the platform to vent about their personal lives.
Business is business. Personal is personal. YES, you can mix the two, in the right context.
There are many things I'd like to write about but they are not related to business. I post those on Facebook.
LinkedIn is a place we can draw the line between social media and business networking.
Humor is an excellent way to bridge gaps, show analogies and provide different perspectives.
It's also interesting when people relate personal experiences to business.
I appreciate Cynthia Soares-Harfoush, who often relates stories about her children as an analogy to things we do in business.
It is possible to be personable and professional at the same time.
Do you find value in posts that are purely social in nature?
