You would think that reading the comments on your own posts and responding to them would be self evident.
It's not. 🤦🏻♀️
I see with well written, informative posts whose author didn't take the time to respond to the comments.
Those comments were left by people who took the time to engage on the post.
Engagement is what we all want, so why ignore the people you are striving to attract?
It makes no sense at all.
The whole point of posting your own content is to attract engagement and build relationships. 🤝
When someone engages on your post, respond to the comments to spark a conversation which will then get picked up by the algorithms.
Interaction is what this is all about.
Ask questions.
Tag other people who may find a post interesting.
I have heard people say that they are "too busy" to respond to comments on their post, which completely negates the point of posting.
Then they say something like, "I comment on Gary V's posts and he doesn't respond, and look how many followers he has".
YOU ARE NOT GARY V!
Stop taking things out of context.
If you want to build a strong network, learn from the influencers but understand that there was a process for them to get where they are.
If you don't post your own content, we thank you for engaging and starting conversations. You are on the right track.
I'm learning that a few basic steps will help your network grow.
✅ Respond to those who comment on your post.
✅ Like and Comment on other people's posts.
✅ Tag people in your network on other's posts to create further engagement.
It's all about engagement.
