I've heard a few versions of this story.
It hits home when I think about the many people I talk to on a daily basis.
As the story goes:
An old farmer is sitting on his porch with his hound dog.
A passerby hears the dog howling and asks the farmer if his dog is ok.
Nope, replies the farmer.
What's wrong with him?, asks the man.
He's sittin' on a nail, comes the reply.
The passerby asks, Why doesn't he move?
The farmer ponders it for a bit and says, I guess it don't hurt bad enough...
That's what was going on before the pandemic. People just weren't hurtin' bad enough to move.
People do that all the time. Things hurt us but not enough so that we will take action.
Are you hurting in your business but not enough to seek expert advice?
What is stopping you from asking for help?
The best way to get past the pain is to get up and do something about it.
Stop howling at everyone around you and make a change.
Are you just not in enough pain?
