Insurance claim denials are a constant concern for the insured.
It's one of those life events that drain your energy and take away your focus at home and at work.
You may pay for years on insurance without any issues at all. Then, a situation occurs where you need to turn to the insurance company for help only to be denied.
Here is how one of our clients handled an insurance claim denial.
In 2019, (now) clients of LegalShield sustained fire damage to their garage from a neighbor's house fire.
They did not carry insurance on the detached garage, so they depended on the neighbor's insurance to cover the damages.
The neighbor turned in the claim to the insurance company and an adjustor was sent out.
After investigation, the insurance company deemed the fire as no fault of their own and denied responsibility to pay.
Fast forward to 2021: The new client signed up with LegalShield and contacted the provider law firm. The lawyer requested photos of the garage, estimates, a fire report, and other documentation.
The client provided the information and letters were written on their behalf.
The lawyer wrote a letter on the client's behalf to the insurance company and the homeowner.
Within a few weeks, the insurance company paid $9100 for the garage damage.
When a lawyer writes a letter it goes to the legal department not customer service. It's a whole different story.
Having access to your rights provides another layer of protection against situations that derail us all mentally and emotionally.
Rather than trying to deal with customer care on their own, this member tapped into a law firm and got the help they needed.
