631 - Are you committed?

We often say we are committed...to our families, jobs, passions, and goals.

Are you aware that when you commit to anything you will have to change something to fulfill that commitment?

Consider what commitment means on LinkedIn. What was your intention for setting up a LinkedIn account and do you think everyone else is here for the same reason?

Were you committed to learning how LinkedIn works? Did you think it was like Facebook?

Learning how to use LinkedIn is a process.

I considered all the job seekers, recruiters, salespeople, influencers, and others.

There are job seekers who set up an account but don't post a picture of themselves. These people are not committed to getting a job.

There are some recruiters who do little more than boasting about their success, without backing up their claims. They give no helpful tips to job seekers. These types of recruiters lack the commitment to help anyone get a job.

Some salespeople have flashy profiles and messages that catch the eye waiting for the next person who bites their hook. They're only committed to making a sale without learning what their prospective clients actually need.

Influencers are often the ones who moved past the entrance level showing others the way.

Their commitment allows them to give advice and tips freely. People wonder, "how much more will they share if I'm a client?"

Influencers draw people to them because they are committed.

Share what you know, your thoughts, and your ideas. But be careful to share what you think you know❗️

✅ Commit to being respectful, no matter what.

✅ Commit to learning a few hard lessons along the way to improve.

✅ Commit to engaging with others and sharing your thoughts. That's how you learn.

Have discussions in the comments without becoming emotionally involved. Others may disagree with your opinion and that's ok.

✅ Commit to changing who you were when you began on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is a spectacular platform for learning and sharing. Approach it with an open mind and awareness that you are on a global stage.

✅ Commit to being the best version of yourself and doors will open for you.
