There are many people focused on making a lot of money.
@Ahmad Munawar's post about the importance of how much money you make inspired me to write this.
Ahmad laid out the work involved as you reach new income levels.
In my industry, we see it happen all the time. Someone new comes in and rises to a top level in a short period of time, then learns there is work involved.
You can't go into any position thinking there will be less work as you rise to new heights in your profession.
We still seem to associate hard work with manual labor but Henry Ford said it best.
“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason so few engage in it.”
If you think rising on the corporate ladder will provide you with more free time and less work, think again.
C-level executives do a lot of thinking.
They do a lot of planning and negotiating.
Their work goes beyond the 9 to 5 that most people work.
As you rise in your industry, you must also grow personally to handle it.
The stress of manual labor is not as tiring as the stress of mental labor.
The higher you go the more intricate the problems, and the more thought processes are needed. It's stressful.
We all have goals and aspirations.
Are you working to grow yourself so you will be ready to handle the next level?
