What is your first thought when asked if you keep your income options open?

When I hear that question, I get the feeling I'm about to be pitch-slapped, even though I come from an industry where many people ask these types of questions regularly.

Here are some of the standard questions you may hear:

⚫️ Do you keep your income options open...?

⚫️ Are you looking for a side gig?

⚫️ Do you want to build multiple streams of income?

⚫️ Do you want to grow a residual income?

People respond to these messages differently depending on how well they know the person who is asking.

A conversation should precede these questions to find out if there is any interest at all.

LinkedIn is not the place to ask such questions unless a person is specifically looking for a "new opportunity" or is "open to work".

There are many business owners who know the benefits of having multiple streams of income. However, they aren't on LinkedIn to focus on a new business opportunity.

Pitch slappers that bring down the credibility of LinkedIn as a professional platform.

On LinkedIn, it's more important to help other people grow their businesses than to entice them into a new opportunity.

How do you feel when someone asks you about your income options?

Have you ever been pitch-slapped?
