There is it, in black and white.
This post hurts to write. I made a huge mistake, then I had to correct it as quickly as I could.
I've been on podcasts and spoken to civic groups, usually on the ever-growing problem of identity theft and the need for identity theft protection.
Sometimes the subject will be how important it is for small business owners and others to have access to legal resources for all of life's events.
What I don't do, is talk about my services directly...EVER, until last week.
I was so excited to be interviewed by @Al Cini and @Lisa Manyoky, I completely forgot what I was doing.
They asked excellent questions, all of which I answered. That was my mistake.
I did not set them up for a successful interview.
I stepped out of integrity and promoted my services live on TV, which is absolutely forbidden.
The response from the interview was incredible.
It would have aired again yesterday, Wednesday, Nov. 9.
But, before that happened, I got an email from corporate letting me know that I could be terminated (even face jail time..that's for extreme circumstances) if I didn't have the content removed.
What had I been thinking? Obviously, I wasn't.
I responded immediately to my corporate office and apologized. I told them I would rectify the situation.
They were incredibly helpful and friendly, telling me to let them know, even if it takes a few days.
You see, I could have allowed the interview to air yesterday. Afterall, it was only a day after this happened.
That would have been truly out of integrity, I was now aware of my mistake.
I requested that the interview be removed immediately on Tuesday because that was the right thing to do.
One thing I stand firm on is always working with integrity. I had completely blown it this time and I wasn't about to take it further, once I was made aware.
It all worked out well and I am grateful for the understanding of everyone involved.
We all make mistakes and we can usually fix those mistakes. The sooner the better.
When was the last time you screwed up unintentionally?
