There are many people on LinkedIn who don't know exactly why they are here.
One person told me she is on LinkedIn because someone told her she should be. I was happy that person hadn't told her she should jump off a bridge.
Other people say they want their resume to be on LinkedIn. WHY? They thought it was the "professional" thing to do.
I wonder if they thought it a good idea to pin up their resume on the grocery store bulletin board, or telephone poles around the neighborhood?
People treat Linkedin like a place to hang out their credentials then sit back and wait for results.
I have connected with many people who never say a word beyond, thank you for connecting.
What kind of business relationship is that?
It seems elementary enough to understand but when you look at the number of people (hundreds of millions!) who do nothing it is staggering.
There are many fake profiles made by scammers, pitch slappers, and other undesirables.
But those don't come close to the number of people who set up a profile and check it once or twice a month and then say LinkedIn doesn't work.
It's not LinkedIn's job to work. It's ours! We are privileged to use this platform.
If you want to do business on LinkedIn, start engaging. Be consistent.
Do you have a connection strategy?
Do you have a connection strategy?
Yes, I connect and engage
No, I connect with everyone
I never thought about it before
