It's that time of year when we want to spread good tidings.
@Deanna Russo wrote in her post about a great way to spread good tidings to those in your network.
This is a wonderful time of year to give recognition to people you appreciate.
Write recommendations for someone you know and appreciate in your network.
Do not write recommendations for people you don't know as it is meaningless and tacky. I shouldn't even have to say that but it happens a lot.
Another way to give people the recognition they deserve is to share a personal message with them.
Someone who is great at sending personal voice messages is @Edward Zia. His messages are always uplifting. Video messages are great too!
When you are out and about, share inspiring quotes and affirmations with people you encounter, such as cashiers, servers, receptionists, etc.
You never know who needs an encouraging word.
You might go all out and answer that obnoxious telemarketer. Make their day with an inspiring message right before you slam the receiver down... Oh right, most of us can't slam down a receiver anymore.
I miss those days...but I digress.
To sum it up, brighten someone's day by:
Leaving a recommendation on LinkedIn
Send a cheerful voice or video message
Share inspiring quotes and affirmations with people you interact with.
Invite a colleague for coffee
Add to this list...
Most importantly, expect nothing in return.
How will you lift people's spirits this holiday season?
