673 - What we put in our minds matters

We talk so much about what we eat and what is good for our bodies yet rarely do we discuss what we allow into our minds.

The content we take in mentally is as important as the food we eat.

We pay attention to the food we eat, how much exercise we get, and how clean our products are then we sit down and binge-watch complete garbage on TV or video games.

I am so happy and grateful that my TV broke 16 years ago and I never bought a new one. I live so much more at peace without mass media and mindless sitcoms.

This is one of the things I love about being a network marketing (NWM) professional.

Every network marketing company embraces personal growth because the people coming into it are not trained for a special position or title at the beginning of their journey.

Your success, regardless of the product or service you are selling, depends heavily on your mental and emotional ability to hold up while learning an entirely new skill of professional sales.

In NWM, a core principle is to read daily, to open, expand, and strengthen our minds.

Here are 10 of my favorite books listed in the order I read them through the years:

  1. Loving What Is, by Byron Katie

  2. The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz

  3. Think and Growth Rich, by Napoleon Hill

  4. The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace Wattles

  5. The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, by John C. Maxwell

  6. Go-Givers, Bob Burg/Jon David Mann

  7. The Untethered Soul, by Michael Singer

  8. Atomic Habits, by James Clear

  9. The Tao of Network Marketing, by John Drennan

  10. Mr. Shoomze, by Richard Abraham

These are only a few of the many books that have helped me become the person I am today.

What is your favorite form of personal growth and learning?

I'm always open to suggestions for new books, podcasts, and Ted Talks.
