There is no lack of discussion about #jobsearch these days.
Yesterday, I posed a question about improving the #hiring process.
I have learned that the hiring process has long been an issue and is even considered broken.
There is also another issue with #job search.
It has a lot to do with the mental and emotional capacity of those searching for jobs.
I get that it is stressful. Life is stressful. Jobs are stressful.
I remember applying for auditions as a musician while living in Germany. There were always hundreds of applications for one position.
It is a long drawn-out process but I knew that all I had to do was get invited and play better than anyone else that day. That in itself took time as I was a foreigner and I woman.
At least I got the chance to stand in front of my future colleagues and show them what I could do.
In the #employment world, it's different. Most don't even get the chance to meet live with decision-makers, as their fate is determined long in advance.
One of the biggest mistakes a job search candidate can make is to complain about a company or the hiring process on social media.
Everything you say and do is being watched by potential employers.
No matter how qualified you are, your lack of #emotionalintelligence can ruin your chances of getting a job.
It's not only the hiring process that is a problem. Job seekers who feel a sense of entitlement and toss blame at the hiring process are also to blame.
I don't understand why more disgruntled employee wannabes don't start their own #business.
Is this discussion on #jobsearch being over-dramatized?
