I am usually the kind of person who wakes up happy and ready to start my day.

For whatever reason, I woke up very differently than my usual jolly self. Maybe I ate too late, the planets are not in alignment or something I experienced the day before.

Was it a bad dream that I can't remember now?

I woke up in a lousy mood.

WHAT? That's not me...

I'm so glad I live alone. I am actually laughing at myself for feeling so gloomy.

I know that this feeling of dread that I have is unfounded and will only hold me back if I allow it to consume me.

It is so important to recognize your emotions and get a grip on them.

Imagine all the people who take these kinds of thoughts and emotions into the workplace.

I always say, "leave your baggage at the door, it will still be waiting for you when you're finished with work because no one else wants them."

This is one of those times where "fake 'til you make it" is the best policy.

Writing this out has already lifted my mood.

How do you handle your negative emotions, especially at work?
