704 - Is your conditioning holding you back?

You've heard the saying, No man is a prophet in his own town.

I have been to many conferences and heard many great speakers.

They often come from many different states. I noticed the trend of speakers who are brought in while local speakers remain uninvited.

I see many of these local speakers are sought in other cities around the country. They travel all over for speaking engagements yet remain unknown in their own area.

Jesus Christ was right when he said that no man is a prophet in his own town. (Matt. 13:57) The people in his village only knew him as a carpenter's son.

The people who know you best are sometimes the ones who believe in you the least. They saw the stupid things you did growing up.

✅ Some of them want to protect you.

😫 Some people will be jealous of your confidence. Jealousy is a nasty beast.

🫣 Some of them are afraid that if you succeed it will make them look bad.

🦀 Remember the story of the crabs that pull other crabs back into the basket when they attempt to escape? Yeah, it's like that.

Can you imagine what those closest said when you think of Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and so many others? We've heard some of their stories.

Many people feel uncomfortable when someone they know steps out and does things differently.

But that's the only way to move up! You can't go to the next level by doing the things that got you to this point.

✅ 2023 is a year to move up, push the limits, create new horizons, RISE!!
