The oldest family-owned business in North America is the Shirley Plantation in Virginia, since 1613.

Another company is the Scholfield Brothers, a trading company that was founded in 1638 in Massachusetts.

There are other businesses that have stood the test of time.

The company I work with, PrePaidLegalServicesInc, doesn't go back centuries but has been in business for over 50+ years.

Pre-Paid Legal Services, established in 1972, is better known as LegalShield/IDShield.

There's a lot to be said for any company that grows and evolves continuously over time.

The legal system in the US is broken. We have known that for a very long time.

It's broken because most people cannot afford to use it. They have no way to gain access to their rights.

If a country's citizens can't afford to access their rights, they often don't have any.

My passion and goal are to educate on and deliver to everyone affordable access to their rights as we are all promised in our Constitution.

We aren't the oldest business in the country but our reputation and mission have provided us with a stronghold in the legal industry.

We believe that every human deserves a secure life and just treatment under the law.

Although we're not one of the oldest businesses, we are strong and will continue to empower our members in gaining access to their rights every time they need it.
