There are people on Linkedin who really know what’s going on.

There are others who act as if they know but their advice is not always congruent with what actually works.

That is to say, they are clueless but they give advice freely.

BEWARE OF THE ADVICE YOU TAKE.

I have a friend who was told to increase his current connection count of 174 to over 500+ ASAP. Just start connecting, like wildfire!

WHAT???

NO, I told him. Don’t do that! That’s what we all did years ago and we have no clue who those people are.

I suggested that he ask himself a few simple questions first.

  • Why am I on LinkedIn? What is my main objective to be here?

  • Who do I want to connect with and why?

  • Do I know the people I am currently connected to? (If not, get to know them)

There are excellent LinkedIn coaches and LinkedIn itself has lots of training you can take to get started.

There are 3 people I recommend to everyone who is serious about LinkedIn and Sales Navigator: @Brynne Tillman and @Joe Apfelbaum who are both absolutely brilliant. They are excellent coaches who love what they do and they do it with passion and integrity.

The third person, I met recently, is @Stacey Hall. She doesn’t profess to be a LinkedIn expert.

Stacey was a guest on @Kendra Lee's podcast. She shares useful suggestions on how and where to engage, to use LinkedIn more efficiently.

The link is in the comments.

Connect and engage with great people and you will meet many more great people.

If you want to get the most out of LinkedIn, connect with like-minded people and engage in their posts.
