There are a lot of distractions in the world today.
We can celebrate Valentine's Day and eat lots of chocolate, continue to conversations about Rihanna, talk about the Grammys, Chinese balloons, the validity of bitcoin...you name it!
With all the discussion, when does anyone get any work done?
There comes a point when you step back and say to yourself, STOP.
Take a deep breath, as @Joe Apfelbaum often does. It's one of the easiest and most beneficial things we can do for ourselves in this busy environment.
OH, and drink plenty of water!
By doing a few simple things, everyone's day could be so much more productive.
Another great suggestion is Time Management.
@John Knotts had a brilliant article today about Time Management. Here is the link. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/successincubator_council-post-14-time-management-practices-activity-7031230318808338432-tOIZ?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
They have a saying in German, that used to sound almost like an excuse for being light-hearted from time to time.
"Spass muss sein" which means, Fun is a must.
In essence, it's a way of saying, there is a time and a place for everything.
What works best for me is planning my day the night before, blocking time for focused work as well as break time.
Planning time for a break makes me more aware of taking time to breathe and drink water.
It also gently reminds me, if I take too much time, that I am not being productive.
Do you let the headlines and current trends navigate your day?
Do you plan your day in advance and stick to a plan?
