So often we hear people complaining.

The boss complains, colleagues complain, clients complain...

Are you consciously aware of how much complaining you hear and how much you contribute to it?

It is quite easy to get drawn into the constant negative chatter that happens all around us.

The question is, of everyone you hear complaining, including yourself, how often do they people take steps to provide a solution?

I'm not talking about the people who say, They should do... or Why don't they just...

Those are not solutions. Those are attempts to look important as if they have the solution.

More often than not, those kinds of suggestions have not been thought through. They may even be missing critical information surrounding their complaint.

I don't like buying into the complaints of other people for several reasons.

✅ First, I'm only hearing one side of a story.

✅ Second, as I already mentioned, there may be critical facts missing.

✅ Third, more than likely, it will be out of my control to help the person. They should go to the source of their complaint.

When a wireless internet company demanded a $200 early termination fee from me, I didn't complain.

I asked why I should pay them when they never provided service and they told me it was because I was under contract!!

Silly me, I thought they were too.

I called my #law firm.

Instead of complaining, I had my #lawyer write a letter to the company.

WHY? Because the services they were supposed to provide never worked.

This resulted in a letter from the company exclaiming how happy they were to announce that I had a zero balance and was in good standing with them.

Don't complain.

Provide a solution!

Do you complain without offering a solution?
