John Knotts wrote an insightful post today about all the spam and clickbait he gets every day on LinkedIn.

Here is the link to his post: https://lnkd.in/eEBzAbF6

Read the comments in John's post and you will see that EVERYONE is sick of it.

It is a waste of everyone's time.

I decided a while ago to take a different approach.

While these unwanted solicitations are a waste of time, so is the time I spend complaining about them.

I take time before connecting with anyone new. We may have mutual connections but that doesn't mean those people were diligent in checking profiles before they connect.

Many people connect without realizing they have connected with a fake profile or scammer. We must all be more aware of the "people" we connect with.

We can all moan and whine about what's happening but some of it is self-induced.

Take the time to report and block everything from spam to fake connection requests.

LinkedIn will get the message. Their efforts to squelch unsolicited spam and bots must be more effective before too many people leave the platform.

If we, legitimate business owners and users of LinkedIn, can spot the problem surely LinkedIn can too.

If things continue as they are, LinkedIn will be nothing more than a platform full of bots communicating with each other while the rest of us find better platforms.

Do you think LinkedIn can do a better job of stopping this massive influx of spam, clickbait, and fake profiles?
