Have you ever known someone who always lets others make decisions for them?
They may leave decisions to their spouse or a friend. At work, they let colleagues make decisions.
Their standard reply when asked is:
I don't want to decide...
I can't decide...
Oh, No, you decide...
WHY?
šØ Fear of being wrong
š± Fear of consequences
ā Fear of criticism
š§ Lack of self-confidence
In short, people who can't make decisions are selfish.
They would rather have other people handle the outcomes than face the consequences themselves.
That doesn't sound very kind and perhaps it's not.
But, it's accurate.
If you can't make decisions, why do you expect others to make the decisions for you?
If you're asked to make a decision or give your opinion, do it.
Conversely, you may ask someone who spends their entire working day making decisions to decide what they want for dinner.
They may not want to make another decision or even care. Have compassion for their situation.
How do you handle situations when you need a decision from someone but they want you to decide for them?
